Luca Velotti Quartet   

Moonray / Concert

Moonray is an engaging jazz project presented by the Velotti Jazz Ensemble, led by the eclectic musician Luca Velotti (saxophone & clarinet) accompanied by Michele Ariodante (guitar & voice), Gerardo Bartoccini (contrabass) and Carlo Battisti (drums). Moonray is a personal and contemporary reinterpretation of classical jazz of Armstrong, Bechet, Goodman and others, flanked by original composition and new melodies.

Held in partnership with the Consulate General of Italy.


Azaleas Duo

Azalaïs Duo come from the Tard-Quand-Dîne ensemble, which since 1995 has been exploring troubadour songs, traditional music from the Middle Ages and Mediterranean, and lately a repertoire of Christmas carols. The band is led by, amongst others, Vincent Magrini, musician, composer, performer and is directed by Céline Magrini, doctor at the University of Provence, specialist of Provencal language and literature, singer and lecturer.

In partnership with the Institut Français de Jérusalem - Chateaubriand as part of the Cultural Year 2018 programs.

Ghazall - غَزَل is a music band based in Nazareth. The band specialises in alternative music from rock to reggae to pop and other modern international types of music. Band Members: Yasmina Abu Nassa is the lead Vocal, Feras Naddaf on Electric Guitar, Deeb Amoury on Bass Guitar, William Billan on Drums & Percussion, Issam Elias on Keys & Vocals.

Maghnatees Band

9 March 2018, Al Ma'mal 

Maghnatees- مغناطيس Arabic for (Magnets) is an electronic-arabian fusion band from Palestine and the Occupied Syrian Golan Heights. Weaving together infectious rock, reggae and Middle Eastern rhythms underneath experimental electronic elements, ambient effects and traditional Arabic melodic modes, Maghnatees music simultaneously takes us deep into their homeland and propels us beyond all barriers.

Apo Sahagian, a Jerusalemite-Armenian singer and songwriter presented an evening of live Armenian folk music entangled with storytelling, stretching from the Armenian Highlands to the Diaspora in Jerusalem and back. 


Gypsy Jazz

Music by Samer Rashed & Band

10 November 2017, Al Ma'mal 

Featuring Samer Rashed and band, Joseph Duqmaq (piano), Pierre Taweel (Drums) with guest musicians, the concert presented gypsy swing/jazz music, a combination between jazz and gypsy music. The rhythm and the harmony in gypsy swing music reflected joy, happiness, hope and sophistication.




12 October 2017,  Al Ma'mal

TootArd (Arabic for Strawberries) is a “mountain rock reggae” band from the majestic mountainside village of Majdal Shams in the Occupied Syrian Golan Heights. Singing in Arabic and gliding across the borders of West African, Saharan, Caribbean grooves and classical Arabic modalities, they captured audience attention throughout the evening. TootArd presented past and recent songs, as well as their latest songs played for the first time in Palestine. 

This concert was supported by the European Union & the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency as [art of  of Jerusalem Nights programme, organised by Shafaq

Douzan Music Festival

18 September 2017, Al Ma'mal 

Featuring Palestinian and Swedish bands, Douzan Music Festival is organised annually by Al Ma’mal Foundation for Contemporary Art and Bilda (Swedish Christian Study Centre). Douzan aims to develop interest among young musicians in learning about each other's culture and share experiences and music. Douzan was conceived by a group of Swedish musicians and was adopted by Bilda in cooperation with Palestinian organisations bringing together young Palestinian and Swedish musicians in joint concerts annually.

A blend of soft rock, experimental rock and poetry. Layered with an unusual virtuosic guitar playing, intimate story telling and a howling violin in a stormy, liberating musical experience.

Concert by cellist Lucia D'Anna

April 2017, Al Ma'mal 

The first solo recital for the Italian cellist, Lucia D'Anna, featuring Baroque and Contemporary pieces, including music by degli Antonii, Bach, Dallapiccola, as well as compositions by D'Anna.
